Wine Tasting with the Expert - Whether we’re on the terrace, in the garden, or in the kitchen, our Monday Wine Tastings are a self-evolving experience, with a come-as-you-please feel. Just like gathering at a friend’s home, our tasting experience will give you a sense of relaxation, laughter, and community. Each featured wine will be available for purchase by the bottle or case. Monday Wine Tastings are $5/guest for non-wine club members. For Wine Club Members, Monday Wine Tastings are complimentary. If you’re a Wine Club member, you’ll also receive a case purchase discount, your passport stamps, and other benefits as well! If you’re not a Wine Club member, this is the perfect opportunity to learn about all the benefits of becoming one! 5:30pm - 7:30pm, $5.00 per person.
DC Wine Week - Stemmed from a passion for good wine and great conversation, founders Lisa Byrne and Vanessa French mind-stormed the concept on a cocktail napkin—over wine, naturally. This week long celebration will be dedicated to enjoying wine, wine education and an opportunity to help support the area’s growing local wineries, wine shops, wine bars, restaurants and merchants. Expect hosted themed events throughout the week, paired menus and special offers from participating bars and restaurants. As well as a chance to network with local wine experts, attend tastings and learn more about what our area has to offer when it comes to wine. Saturday, October 13, 2012 - Saturday, October 20, 2012.

Cancer Bites, We'll Bite Harder - Presented by Tweet's Sweets, Hosted by HU's favorite comedian Rallo Boykins at Bar 201. Help take a bite out of cancer's sting! Proceeds will benefit HU's Cancer Center Prostate & Breast Clinic, Ulman Cancer Fund and Tamika and Friends.
Saturday, October 20:
Dinner for the Washingtons Walking Tour - Ever wonder what George Washington ate for dinner? The Dinner for the Washingtons walking tour goes behind-the-scenes to find out how food was prepared and served before the era of microwaves and TV dinners. The one-hour walking tour showcases food, hospitality, and dining at Mount Vernon by taking an in-depth look at locations around the Estate, including the Mansion's basement. The tour will end in Mount Vernon’s greenhouse with a special tasting. Tours are offered Saturday and Sunday only. This special tour costs $5 per person in addition to Estate admission ($15). 11:00am - 12:00pm.
