Capital Food Fight - Returning as hosts are our friends José Andrés and Anthony Bourdain. New this year as judges: The Chew's Carla Hall, Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi, and Bizarre Foods' Andrew Zimmern. And we've got some great new battling chefs from hot local restaurants: Chefs Jeffrey Buben from Vidalia/Bistro Bis, Enzo Fargione from Elisir, and Guillermo Pernot from Cube Libre. In its 9th year, the Capital Food Fight supports the work of DC Central Kitchen to combat hunger and create opportunity. Tickets are on sale now. $200 general admission, 6:00pm.
Taste of DC 2012 - Experience more than 50 DC area restaurants over three days on historic Pennsylvania Avenue between the White House and the Capitol. Taste of DC also features 30 specialty beers, all day live performances and Ben’s Chili Bowl’s 2nd Annual World Chili Eating Championship. Tickets are $8.99 per day, 12-7pm.

12th Annual Wines for Canines and Felines Tasting - Paul's Wine and Spirits will be hosting our 11th Annual Wines for Canines and Felines event benefiting the Montgomery County Humane Society on Thursday October 11th at Maggiano's Little Italy in Washington, DC. 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, $75 per person.
Bourbon Tasting - Join GINtender for a class/tasting by expert speaker Mike Goss, on the MOST AMERICAN of ALL SPIRITS, BOURBON! Mike will taste you on different brands and answer all questions, while bartenders serve unique bourbon concoctions. 7:00pm - 10:00pm, $20/person in advance $30 at the door.

Dinner for the Washingtons Walking Tour - Ever wonder what George Washington ate for dinner? The Dinner for the Washingtons walking tour goes behind-the-scenes to find out how food was prepared and served before the era of microwaves and TV dinners. The one-hour walking tour showcases food, hospitality, and dining at Mount Vernon by taking an in-depth look at locations around the Estate, including the Mansion's basement. The tour will end in Mount Vernon’s greenhouse with a special tasting. Tours are offered Saturday and Sunday only. This special tour costs $5 per person in addition to Estate admission ($15).
Saturday Suppers at Art and Soul (Oktoberfest Brats and Braus) - Art and Soul is bringing you intimate monthly dinners allowing Chef Wes Morton to serve a style of food close to his heart and heritage: simple, Southern and family-style. Dinners begin with a reception and passed hors d'oeuvres on the patio (weather-permitting). Guests move indoors to enjoy a four-course, family-style supper with cocktail pairings and live music. Cost is $65 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity.
